Customer FAQs
What is Flex and what is their relationship with Joe & Bella?
Joe & Bella has partnered with Flex to allow you to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for all Joe & Bella products, which are FSA and HSA-approved products.
You can now use your HSA or FSA debit card to buy any of Joe & Bella's easy-dressing clothing with pre-tax dollars, resulting in net savings of 30–40%, depending on your tax bracket.
This partnership makes Joe & Bella a convenient FSA-approved store for FSA/HSA-eligible products.
How do I pay with my HSA or FSA card?
To use your card, add any Joe & Bella products to your cart (all items are HSA-eligible). At checkout, select "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA" as your payment option, enter your HSA or FSA debit card, and complete your FSA-eligible shopping purchase.
If you do not see the Flex option, you may be in Shop Pay. Select "checkout as guest" to view more payment choices.
What if I don't have my HSA/FSA card available?
Still select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment method. Enter any credit card information, and Flex will email you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement of your Joe & Bella FSA-eligible items.
Why is my HSA/FSA card being declined?
HSA/FSA cards are debit cards, and the most common reason for declines is insufficient funds. Contact your HSA/FSA administrator to verify your account balance.
You can also check your account for eligible funds or review your HSA list of approved items before retrying.
What makes Joe & Bella clothing HSA/FSA eligible?
All of our easy-dressing designs address mobility, dexterity, and/or daily living challenges, making every piece in our collection HSA-approved products under IRS medical expense guidelines.
Do I need a prescription or doctor's note?
No prescription is required. Our clothing is considered “always eligible” as FSA/HSA-eligible products, eliminating extra steps in your FSA-eligible shopping.
For example, magnetic shirts, adaptive pants, and socks are considered “always eligible” under IRS guidelines. Explore details in our FSA/HSA Adaptive Clothing Guide.
What documentation will I receive?
Flex will email you an itemized receipt for your purchase. Keep it in case your HSA/FSA provider requests documentation for your Joe & Bella HSA-eligible items.
Help! I didn't receive an email from Flex with my itemized receipt. What should I do?
Please check your spam folder, as sometimes emails from notifications@withflex.com may be automatically filtered as spam. If you still can't find it, please email support@withflex.com and provide the email address associated with your order.
Can I use multiple HSA/FSA cards to pay for an item?
Unfortunately, this feature isn't currently supported. If there are insufficient funds in a single HSA or FSA account, you can enter a credit card on the Flex checkout page instead. You will receive an itemized receipt from Flex, which you can submit for reimbursement.
Is sales tax covered by HSA/FSA funds?
Yes. Sales tax is included as part of the covered expense when applied to Joe & Bella’s FSA/HSA-approved products.
Can I use HSA/FSA for gifts?
HSA/FSA funds can only be used for the account holder's qualifying medical expenses. Check with your HSA or FSA provider about specific eligibility requirements.
My HSA/FSA claim was denied. What should I do?
Contact your HSA/FSA provider to understand the reason for the denial. You can also reach out to support@withflex.com for assistance with documentation.
Are compression socks FSA eligible?
Yes. Compression socks with or without grips are FSA/HSA-eligible items when used for circulation support or post-surgery recovery. Learn more in our blog: Are Compression Socks FSA Eligible?
Can I use my HSA/FSA funds for post-surgery clothing?
Yes. Many adaptive clothes, including magnetic shirts, CareZips® pants, and adaptive bras, qualify as always-eligible items. See our full guide: Can You Use HSA/FSA Dollars for Post-Surgery Clothing?
What should I buy before my FSA funds expire?
If your plan has a year-end deadline, you can use remaining funds on adaptive clothing, recovery apparel, or comfort items. Our blog How to Use Your HSA or FSA Before It Expires shares smart shopping tips.
