When it comes to medical attire for hospital stays, rehabilitation, senior living, or home care, comfort and dignity are paramount. Traditional hospital gowns often fall short, offering minimal coverage and challenging closures. At Joe & Bella, we understand these shortcomings and are committed to transforming patient wear across various healthcare settings with our women's Every Nightgown.
Our adaptive nightgowns, an alternative to traditional hospital gowns, are thoughtfully designed to address both medical needs and personal comfort. We prioritize full coverage, easy closures, and high-quality materials to enhance the patient experience, making each garment not only functional but also dignified, making our women's hospital gown alternative perfect for many occasions, including lounging at home and recovering at a medical facility.
Types of Hospital Gowns Available
1. Recovery Gowns for Women
Recovery gowns are tailored for post-surgery patients, offering easy access for medical staff while ensuring patient comfort and modesty. These gowns might close in the front with buttons or a tie.
2. Open Back Hospital Gowns for Women
Designed for ease of use, open-back gowns for women simplify dressing and undressing. The wearer does not need to raise arms to dress, but they likely will need assistance in tying closed the gown.
3. Nonsurgical Gowns for Women
These gowns are made for women not undergoing surgery, focusing on comfort for prolonged wear during hospital stays more than easy access for a healthcare professional.
4. Procedural Gowns
Specifically designed for patients undergoing medical procedures, these gowns ensure accessibility and sterility. Some of these gowns are washable while others are disposable and thrown out after one use.
5. Women's Hospital Gowns
Designed for comfort and modesty, these gowns cater to the unique needs of female patients.
6. Elderly Hospital Gowns
Specially designed for the elderly, these gowns consider the common physical and medical needs of older patients. This may include special fabric that's good for sensitive skin and easy-to-use closures.
7. IV Patient Gowns
These gowns provide convenient access for IV lines, making them suitable for women requiring intravenous medication or fluids. They're a wonderful option for those who may require consistent or often IV access, whether receiving chemotherapy, dialysis or having a pic line.
Our Hospital Gown Features Include
1. Front Wrap
Unlike traditional hospital gowns, Joe & Bella's gown easily closes in the front, so you don't have to reach around and tie it behind your back. Instead of closing the shirt with a series of buttons along the midline, this gown provides overlap by pulling one side of the garment across the body to the other side, secured with Velcro.
This design ensures full coverage, an easy way to open and close, and does not require significant twisting or contorting of the body in awkward or dangerous positions. And unlike buttons, Velcro offers a larger target, making it easier to secure for those with limited mobility or coordination.
2. Comfortable and Quality Fabric
Designed with comfort, quality, and hygiene in mind, our hospital gown for women is constructed with a synthetic blend. We carefully chose this fabric because it's lightweight and soft without being too slippery. It also has a little bit of stretch to make dressing and lying down easier. It is made with 95% Viscose, 5% Elastane.
3. Post Surgery Friendly
This hospital gown for women is a wonderful option for women recovering from surgery. Post-surgery-friendly hospital gowns should be easy to put on and off while ensuring full coverage and comfort.
How to Choose the Right Hospital Gown?
1. Fabric Selection
The material of a hospital gown affects comfort, breathability, and hygiene. Look for gowns made from soft, breathable fabrics like cotton or a cotton blend to ensure comfort, especially for long-term wear. Fabrics with moisture-wicking properties can help keep the skin dry, reducing the risk of irritation and infections. Additionally, consider gowns treated with antimicrobial properties for an extra layer of protection against germs.
2. Choosing Hospital Gowns for Women
Hospital gowns should accommodate everyone, respecting privacy and providing ease of access for medical examinations or treatments. Look for designs that are considerate of different body types and sizes, ensuring that they offer adequate coverage while being easy to adjust. Unisex gowns are commonly available, but some suppliers offer gowns designed specifically for female considerations in mind, focusing on fit, coverage, and accessibility.
3. Sizing and Measurements
Proper fit is essential for comfort and functionality. A gown that is too large can slip and compromise privacy, while one that is too small may restrict movement and access. Most hospital gowns for women come in a range of sizes from small to plus sizes, accommodating a broad spectrum of body shapes.
Check the supplier's sizing chart and measure yourself to ensure the best fit. Remember to consider any medical devices or treatments you'll be undergoing, as these may affect the size and type of gown you need.
4. Consider Your Condition
Your medical condition can influence the type of hospital gown you choose. For instance, if you're undergoing surgery, a gown designed for easy access to the surgical site might be preferable. If mobility is a concern, look for gowns that open fully in the front or back to minimize the need to raise arms or stand. For patients with IV lines, gowns with snaps or Velcro at the shoulders or sleeves can facilitate easy access for healthcare providers without having to remove the garment fully.
