Meet HoodEase: The Magnetic Zipper Hoodie That Practically Zips Itself

HoodEase: Reinventing the Hoodie That Reinvented Us

We didn’t plan to launch a hoodie. We planned to change how people get dressed.

Earlier this year, that mission took center stage at the Alibaba x Kickstarter CoCreate Pitch Challenge in Las Vegas. Out of more than 20,000 global applicants, Joe & Bella was selected as one of just 10 winners, hosted by Shark Tank’s Daymond John and judged by Shark Tank’s Lori Greiner, and Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor.

When they called our name, something clicked: literally and figuratively. Backstage, trophy in hand, we showed Everette Taylor our next innovation, a self-latching magnetic zipper hoodie. It wasn’t even a finished product yet, but his reaction said it all. His enthusiasm and encouragement gave us the push we needed.

That moment became our catalyst. What started as a prototype became a promise,  a vision to create the world’s first easy wear hoodie that would redefine comfort and independence.

The Pitch That Started It All

Our team didn’t just pitch a hoodie. We pitched a future.

We told the judges that we’re building a world where clothing doesn’t fight you, it helps you. Where fashion is inclusive not because it’s trendy, but because it’s common sense.

That message landed. Because everyone, from a 25-year-old in a startup to a 95-year-old in assisted living, has experienced that frustrating moment: trying to get a zipper started, tugging at the bottom, realigning the sides, muttering something unprintable under your breath.

We’ve all been there. HoodEase, our magnetic zipper hoodie, was designed to end that moment forever, turning a simple piece of clothing into a life-changing solution.

Where It Really Began: My Grandfather’s Hoodie

Before there was a pitch, before there was Joe & Bella, there was my grandfather.

When I picture him, I see his curly hair, big round glasses, warm smile, and his reliable black hoodie. He wore it all the time. Comfort came first, long before fashion trends tried to catch up. I guess that part rubbed off on me.

Then came the day when his hands could no longer manage zippers. Something so small, so ordinary, became a battle.

When we launched Joe & Bella, it was to solve problems like that. We wanted to design apparel that restored dignity and made dressing easier, not just for older adults, but for everyone who values comfort, ease, and style.

Our magnetic button-down shirts were the first proof of concept. We fixed buttons. Now, with HoodEase, we’re coming for zippers, with a magnetic zipper hoodie to make dressing effortless for all.

Meet HoodEase: The Hoodie That Practically Zips Itself

Joe & Bella Everyday Magnetic Flannel for Men #Blue Plaid

At first glance, HoodEase looks like your favorite premium hoodie: soft, sleek, and built to move with you. But it’s something more. Our zipper defies gravity, frustration, and 1913 (the year the zipper was invented).

Here’s how it works:
You don’t have to line anything up. You just bring the two sides close together, and our hidden self-latching magnetic zipper finds its match. The magnets connect, align, and lock into place instantly. Then, one smooth pull and, boom, you’re zipped.

No fumbling. No frustration. No need for perfect dexterity. Just a magnetic zipper hoodie that’s smarter than the problem.

HoodEase becomes the ultimate easy wear hoodie, practical, stylish, and empowering.

Because Details Matter

We didn’t stop at the zipper. We obsessed over every detail:

  • Angled, deep pockets that actually hold your phone securely.
  • Four-way stretch premium fabric that feels as good as it looks, soft but structured.
  • A tailored hood that sits naturally, no tugging or slouching.
  • Reinforced seams and stress points built for the long haul.
  • Adaptive comfort system that moves with you.

We’ve tested, refined, and tested again. Because a magnetic zipper hoodie this special should feel as effortless as it functions.

Why HoodEase Matters

Let’s be honest: the world doesn’t need another hoodie. But it does need a better one.

A magnetic zipper hoodie that says “you got this” to the 78-year-old who still wants to zip up without help. An automatic zipper hoodie that makes mornings easier for caregivers dressing multiple residents. An easy wear hoodie that reminds all of us that innovation isn’t just for apps and AI.

HoodEase isn’t just clothing. It’s confidence, comfort, and control. That’s what Joe & Bella has always been about.

Why Kickstarter

Kickstarter isn’t just about funding; it’s about community.

When you back HoodEase, you’re helping us fund our first manufacturing run and prove that clothing innovation deserves a spotlight. You’re joining thousands who believe fashion can be functional and dignified.

This isn’t a pre-order. It’s participation in a movement, defined by the easy wear hoodie philosophy.
