What Is Kickstarter — and Why We’re Launching HoodEase There First

HoodEase is Available on Kickstarter

At Joe & Bella, we’re always looking for ways to bring you innovative products that make life easier, more comfortable, and more dignified. Our newest creation — HoodEase, a hoodie with a magnetic zipper that connects automatically — is one we’re especially excited about.

But this time, you’ll notice something different: instead of launching HoodEase directly on our website, we’re introducing it first on Kickstarter.

If you’ve never used Kickstarter before, here’s everything you need to know — and why it’s a trusted, secure way to be the first to get HoodEase.

What Is Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is the world’s largest crowdfunding platform. It’s a website where creators like us can share new ideas and products with the public before they’re available anywhere else.

Think of it as a way to pre-order innovative products while helping small businesses bring them to life. When you “back” a project, you’re supporting it financially, and in return you receive the product (or “reward”) once it’s ready to ship.

Since 2009, over 23 million people have backed more than 260,000 projects on Kickstarter — everything from tech gadgets to apparel to art.

Creators can raise the funds before risking money to manufacture a product. And during that process of raising

Is Kickstarter Safe?

Yes — Kickstarter is completely safe and secure.

All transactions take place directly on Kickstarter’s platform, which uses industry-standard encryption and secure payment processors like Stripe.

Importantly:

  • Your payment information is never shared with creators (like Joe & Bella).
  • You are only charged if the campaign reaches its funding goal.
  • Kickstarter has operated securely for more than a decade and is trusted by millions of backers worldwide.

So if you’re new to the site, you can feel confident that your payment is processed safely — just like any other major online retailer.

Why We’re Launching HoodEase on Kickstarter

We could have released HoodEase directly on our website, but we chose Kickstarter for three main reasons:

  1. To involve our community from the start.
Kickstarter lets us connect directly with supporters — including you — as we launch something truly new. It’s a chance for you to help shape the future of HoodEase and be part of the story from day one. This includes voting on new colors and fabric weight.
  2. To help fund the first production run.
Creating something as innovative as HoodEase requires specialized manufacturing. Kickstarter allows us to gauge demand, cover production costs, and ensure we can make enough inventory to meet interest — without overproducing.
  3. To expand what’s possible.
We’ve set a stretch goal that will allow us to create a children’s version of HoodEase if the campaign performs well. Kickstarter makes that kind of growth achievable through community support.

What Happens When You Back HoodEase

Backing HoodEase on Kickstarter is simple:

  1. Visit our Kickstarter page (launching November 11).
  2. Choose your preferred reward tier (like “1 Hoodie” or “2 Hoodies”).
  3. Enter your payment info — but remember, you won’t be charged until the campaign successfully reaches its goal.
  4. You’ll get updates from us throughout the campaign and production process, so you’ll always know what’s happening.

Once manufacturing is complete, your hoodie will be shipped directly to you — before it’s available anywhere else.

Why This Matters to Us (and to You)

At Joe & Bella, we believe innovation should be accessible, practical, and beautiful. We started our company because we saw how small design changes can have a huge impact on comfort, independence, and confidence.

By launching HoodEase on Kickstarter, we’re giving our community — you — a front-row seat to that innovation. You’ll be part of bringing it to life, and you’ll be among the very first to wear it.

We’re incredibly grateful for your trust and enthusiasm as we take this next step.

👉 Stay tuned for November 11 — and get ready to experience effortless dressing like never before.
